Where patient health needs meet outstanding nurse care
In 2022, the clinic experienced a significant number of visits, with a total of 479 recorded appointments, serving a diverse group of 354 individual clients. A majority of these visits, amounting to 417, took place at the Dorcas location, reflecting the clinic's integral role in the local community.

Our commitment to providing specialized care and hosting free special events was met with enthusiasm from the community. Notably, we conducted 111 adult retina screenings, which identified concerns in 23 individuals (21% of those screened). These individuals received follow-up exams to address issues such as retinal hemorrhages and glaucoma, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.

Fostering better oral health for both adults and children remained a top priority. Through educational initiatives led by the Wake County dental hygienist, 137 adults and 75 children received valuable information regarding children's oral health. During dental screenings, we detected obvious dental caries in four children, underscoring the significance of early intervention and preventive measures.

To address public health concerns, we provided vital STD/HIV counseling, education, and screening services to numerous individuals, contributing to disease prevention and awareness.

A highlight of our collaborative efforts included the fall immunization clinic, which we hosted in partnership with the UNC Physicians Network. During this event, we administered 20 flu vaccines and nine COVID-19 vaccines, ensuring greater protection for those who attended.

In our endeavor to expand the scope of our services, we successfully organized the inaugural skin cancer screening event, attracting 20 attendees. Additionally, 15 individuals participated in the atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) screening event, where we focused on early detection and management of this cardiac condition.

These accomplishments were only possible thanks to the unwavering dedication of our team, the support of community partners, and the trust placed in us by our clients.
